Graphic Language:FUBAR
I picked up a copy of FUBAR at the New York Comic Con last October, solely because my old friend Lonny had done the art for one of the stories. The premise was also interesting, revolving around WW2 in the European Theatre, and the idea of what if zombies just happened to start showing up.This is an anthology, and that is in a way the books best feature and biggest weakness. Some of the stories are so short that they feel too similar.A battle occurs and then suddenly the characters are fighting the undead. The stories that work the best play with the format, such as the excellent "Mother Russia",about a Soviet sniper stuck in a bell tower, and her sudden realization that there is a defenseless baby amongst the living dead,on the ground. This works well because it is also one of the longest stories, giving you more fleshed out characters. The book is in black and white, which works well, and most of the art is good.I give it a 3 of 5,feeling some stories could have been longer, maybe nixing others.
