Record Time:Outlandos d'Amour

The Police are a favorite band of mine and this is their first album.this band was much akin to The Beatles or Nirvana,in the fact that they had put out a great, disperse amount of material in a short period of time before breaking up.This album was released in 1978,and they were over by '84.

This record is the roadmap musically to the style they would always be assosciated with, pop punk mixed with an ample reggae sound.Every track is good, from the overplayed"Roxanne",to the tightly grooved"So Lonely",right down to the bizarre love song to a sex doll,"Be My Girl-Sally".The sound and production are raw,as the budget was low,but this record is so good it doesn't detract from the experience. This is a true power trio and they have a big sound, which helps defy the poor quality in some spots.

If your looking for something new thats old, give this album a listen.
